Claire Scott

School Days: 1981-Christmas 1985

Claire looked every bit the angelic daughter. She entered Grange Hill with Shirley Temple-like curls and her parents were proud of their model child. At school, however, Claire was a completely different person. She was headstrong, sometimes bolshie but by no means a rebel. Her parents placed enormous academic pressure on her and this is where the problems began. Mum frowned upon her friendship with Suzanne Ross and was determined to hold on to her little girl for as long as possible. But it all blew up in her face; Claire developed into a forthright young woman who has surely done well for herself.
Series 4: Claire worries about the school medical, after Julia says she's underdeveloped. She and Duane come up with the "boys versus girls" challenge at the end of term.

Series 5: Mrs Scott doesn't want Claire to have sex education lessons. Claire develops a crush on Mr Hopwood and keeps a graphic diary. Her dad finds it and confronts the teacher.

Series 6: Claire is part of the underground magazine and speaks out against Gripper. Stewpot and Claire are suspended - for kissing in the store cupboard! When she returns, she organises the protest march for Scruffy McGuffy.

Series 7: Stewpot and Claire are at each other's throats. Claire brings a biorhythm clock to school and attends the UN weekend.

Series 8: Stewpot two-times Claire with Annette, she tells him to choose but he carries on seeing Annette.

ASSOCIATES: Precious Matthews, Duane Orpington, Stewpot Stewart, Suzanne Ross, Christine Everson.

FAMILY: Claire was the only child of Leslie and Anne. An old-fashioned couple (even in 1982) with high morals; this often brought mum and daughter into conflict.

CURRENT WHEREABOUTS: Where do we start? She left home as soon as she was old enough!
